ABOUT
Taragarh Fort (Star Fort of Bundi)
Rising high above Bundi on a rocky hill, The Taragarh Fort—built around 1354 CE—is one of Rajasthan’s oldest and most striking hill forts. Its massive serpentine-stone walls, winding ramparts, and bastioned gateways once guarded the Hada Chauhan capital and its palaces below.
Ingenious water tanks carved into rock sustained the fort through sieges, while its highest bastion, Bhim Burj, once mounted the great cannon Garbh Gunj—“Thunder from the Womb.”
Today, Taragarh Fort rewards every visitor with sweeping views of the blue-washed town, the lakes, and the Aravalli hills—standing as a timeless symbol of Bundi’s courage and creativity
